Exploring Cornwall - Top 3 Great Sites!
Chris Hogan, 6th September 2018, Caravan
Cornwall is one of the most popular counties for tourism in the UK. As there's a fair chance that the weather will remain fairly good into September and October this year, it makes the perfect touring location for when the schools have gone back.
Let's take a quick look at a few of the hundred or so caravan parks to choose from in this beautiful location.
We've selected sites that are open to the end of October or the beginning of November, if not all year round, but do check before you travel.
Happy camping!
Open to 3rd November
Situated between St Ives and St Agnes, this 30-pitch family-owned site is surrounded by nature, with walks through the woodland, meadows and mining ruins of the Tolskithy Valley.
From the village there are cycle routes leading around the area and a footpath through woods to the beach. The site has the usual amenities and a shop with local produce as well as basic groceries but unfortunately pets aren't allowed.
Open to 29th October
Hendra is a site for the more active, with lots of facilities on the park to keep everyone entertained, including a water complex with a variety of pools and flumes. There are plenty of extra cost activities including Segways, zorbing and many more and Newquay itself has lots to offer.
This is a large site spread across many fields but the upside of that is that dogs are allowed in some sections.
Open year round
Set in nine acres of parkland in the middle of gorgeous countryside, this is a dog-friendly site and many of the nearby beaches are dog-friendly too. The site has the usual amenities including a small shop with an off-licence.
