Thule Smart Panels

Some of you may be familiar with the Thule brand. Perhaps you have seen their logo on a piece of luggage, a rucksack, a roof rack or even a pushchair? But did you know that they have now ventured out into the world of Caravan accessories? Let’s see what they’ve got on offer!

Caravan Awnings

Thule have brought out their own range of custom made awnings. The selection is pretty impressive allowing you to pick the mount type, cassette colour, fabric finish and choose additional features. It seems to be a one stop shop for designing your perfect awning, right down to selecting LED Strip lighting and awning cleaner solution.

Caravan Panels

Thule have designed a wide range of panels that can added to enhance your awning. These include sun blockers, rain blockers, privacy screens and windscreens. Although most caravanners will likely have wind breaks, and privacy measures of their own, Thule's panels do look very smart, and there's something very aesthetically pleasing about the awning matching the panels.

Caravan Tents

Thule have brought out their own range of awnings, only these are called "tents" on the website. The video demonstrations show how easy they are to put up, and they include some fun accessories such as built in curtains to create a homely feel.

Miscellaneous Accessories

The rest of the website is made up of comfort and security products, steps, storage and bike racks. Without trying these products it's hard to determine whether they are significantly better than others available on the market.

So, what are the cons?

No website orders

Although you can add all the items you want into a list on their website, you cannot order directly through them online. This is slightly frustrating; however, the website does provide a handy map letting you know where your nearest Thule dealer is. You can then print the list and take it into them, or email the list before hand to check stock to save yourself a journey.

No prices

The prices of the equipment are not shown on their website so it is very easy to get carried away adding things to your list. Then, when you do come to work out the total, it can easily be thousands of pound's worth of kit!

Price points

As stated earlier it is difficult to tell without seeing and trying the product, whether they are superior to the average caravan accessories. But when you are paying over £200 for a caravan step, you want to be certain you are getting your money's worth!
